Dhobi Ghat (Mumbai Diaries) is the directorial debut of actor Aamir Khan's wife Kiran Rao. The film has done quite well in the festival circuits and has developed quite a hype among the Indian cine goers. The film got released yesterday here and it runs with No Interval.

The film follows the life of four interesting characters and showcases the connection they share. Prateik Babbar plays the role Munna, a dhobi and a wannabe actor. Aamir Khan stars as Arun, a painter who is in solitary and searches for inspiration for his next project. Monica Dogra plays the role Shai, an NRI investment banker on a sabbatical and is looking to explore the poor in Mumbai. And finally we have Kriti Malhotra playing the character Yasmin, a newlywed small town girl who comes to the big city and is awestruck at how the city works.

Arun meets Shai at one of his art show and they end up having a one night stand after which he pushes her away with his attitude. Shai meets Munna and makes him her guide-friend and while the two spend more time together he develops a crush on her. But Shai still has some unfinished business with Arun. Meanwhile Arun finds his inspiration through a video diary of Yasmin, the ex-resident of his newly rented house. He finds it endearing to see the awe with which Yasmin sees the big city and the way she sees humor in the daily life of this city.

The director has done a great job in realistically showing the awkwardness that a dhobi faces with getting close with an uptown girl and the awe and discomfort that a small town girl would face in a big city. Kiran Rao as a writer has done a excellent job whereas Kiran Rao as a director has still some areas that needs to be worked on.

The ensemble cast of the film is fantastic. The lead Prateik Babbar gives a strong performance and the two lead ladies where pleasing to watch while Aamir is simply Aamir. The reason that I got glued to the screen was the beautiful cinematography by Tushar Kanti Ray and the elegant background score by Gustavo Santaolalla.

This genre of film is something new to the Indian cine goers. So if you guys decide to watch this movie, go to the theater with some patience and an open mind and you are sure to enjoy this film.
This movie is about a Teacher's struggle with his addiction, a girl's realization that drugs cripple and the friendship that develops between them.

Ryan Gosling stars as Daniel Dunn, the History teacher who struggles with an addiction problem. Shareeka Epps starts as Drey, one of the students of Dunn who is living with her overworking EMT mother. Her brother is doing time in prison and his friend Frank(Anthony Mackie), a drug dealer tries to look after her but only in the way he knows how within the realms of selling drugs.

A quote that might describe the heart of "Half Nelson":

"Contradictions are the source of all movement and of all life. All things are in themselves contradictory and it is this principle, more than any other, which expresses the essence of things."

The story by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden is brilliantly written. The individual problems that Drey and Dunn face are portrayed beatifully.

Ryan Gosling gives an emotionally charged performance and Epps is a perfect foil to Gosling. The chemistry between the two was authentic. Johnnie To and Wai Ka-Fai team up after nearly four years to direct this brilliant Psychological Crime Thriller. The story of this movie is cleverly scripted and it has been stylishly shot and executed.

The movie revolves around a schizophrenic cop Bun(Ching Wan Lau), who was forcibly removed from the force after he presented his severed ear as gift to the Police Chief. Bun claims to have the ability to see the Inner Personalities of the people. Inspector Ho(Andy On) brings him out of retirement to investigate the case of Wong, a fellow cop who has been missing for over 18 months now and his gun has been used in three armed robberies.

Bun's primary suspect is Wong's former partner Chi-Wai(Ka Tung Lam) who has seven different inner personalities. The directors manages to keep the viewers on the edge of their seat with their expertly crafted storyline. It keeps the viewers guessing what will happen next.

One cannot relate himself with the lead character of this film, his behaviors may seem funny but later you can sense the sadness in him. Bun's method of investigating is really unorthodox, he puts himself in the place of the victim and try to connect with their inner personalities to find out what happened. Sometimes it may be difficult for the audience to differentiate the reality from fiction especially when you have eight actors playing a single character.

Nevertheless the movie has been Stylishly shot with a brilliant screenplay, Masterfully edited and the entire cast gives us a brilliant performance. The soundtrack of the movie is an added bonus, it manages to keep the eerie feel throughout the movie. The final scene of the movie is confusing at first but later gives us a clear picture. It has been brilliantly shot.

This movie has a creative script that is original. The directors Johnnie To and Wai ka-Fai give us an astounding psychological thriller in which everything works out. I am sure that in the near future there will an Hollywood director who will remake this movie in English and spoil the spirit of this film. In the end this is one of best thrillers from Asia in the recent past and it is Simply Superb!!
The movie is directed by Sylvester Stallone. Its cast is a who's who of established action film stars of the previous three decades. Even though the previews gave away the cameo by Arnold Schwarzenegger, it still gave us just another reason to stand in line for this movie.

The Expendables describes a team of what could be considered mercenaries, or bounty hunters. They go on high-risk missions, guns in hand, and pick up the money owed to them at the end of the day. Their main mission in this movie is initially to overthrow a South American dictator in the fictional nation of Vilena. Eventually, they find that the real enemy is ex-CIA agent James Munroe (Eric Roberts) aided by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and a whole army of guerrilla soldiers.

This movie is full of action sequences, all of which are fun to watch. There are also some scenes involving knives (particularly ones thrown by Jason Statham) that even made me flinch. Although there are plenty of scenes involving knives and big guns, there are some great sequences involving hand-to-hand combat. You definitely don't want to take a bathroom break when 5'6 Jet Li takes on 6'4 Dolph Lundgren. There's also a fight scene between Steve Austin and Randy Couture that will satisfy both UFC and WWE fans.

Of course the scene everyone was talking about was the Stallone, Schwarzenegger & Willis scene. Which was one of the funniest parts of the movie. Their attempt to put each other down while out manning each other worked brilliantly and Willis threatening Stallone alone is worth the ticket price.

Everything about this movie is top notch. Right from the direction to the sets, its stunning. The screenplay is impeccable & the cinematography couldn't get better. The visuals are delightful. The music score is exceptional. Even though it is a slow movie, the pace seems very fast. The editing also is so well done. The dialogues are perfect, used in a really vulgar tone. The story is set in & around Equatorial Brazil. The locations shown are ideal.

The Expendables is the kind of film that enchants and enthralls. The bone-chilling, and all-the-other-adjectives-that-can-be-used kind of movie that's just replete with thrills. In the end this is one of best B-Movies that I have seen in a long time.
There's a famous saying in Greek, it goes,"If you want someone to hate you, make them think!". So some people might not like this movie as it does make people think.

The mystery-shrouded story of a job application process, Exam introduces us to eight candidates herded into a room to sit before a blank sheet each and provide the one answer necessary to get the position. The ensuing eighty minutes consist of the candidates desperately trying to discover the question they are required to answer and struggling to work together despite the uncertainty of who they can trust. With a very gradual and slow start, Exam gives us time to meet our characters, examine the story they play a part in, and formulate an early impression of what is going on. By the time things get going, we are fully versed in the world immediately before us, though the deeper mysteries lie as yet unawakened.

Exam is a gem of a film. This low budget psychological thriller is very clever, incredibly entertaining and the production values are all far better then you would expect from such an unknown film. It's tense, mysterious and has a great atmosphere, and more importantly it stimulates your brain. It's impossible to not get caught up in the story and try to figure out just what the hell is actually going on. It couldn't be more engaging.

The aren't any known actors in the cast but their performances are not to be taken lightly. But what really made the film work was undeniably, the impeccable direction. In the end, Exam is a great low-budget thriller that puts many Hollywood blockbusters to shame. Definitely worth seeing and I'll be sure to check Stuart Hazeldine's next project after such a promising debut.

The acting from the entire cast was spectacular, but the one who stole the show for me was Chloe Moretz as the Hit-Girl - the incredibly volatile young superhero with a penchant for explicit language, which will surely propel her into the realms of stardom.

This is a top-notch directing by Matthew Vaughn. This movie will definitely make him one of the most sought after directors in the Hollywood. The way handled the action sequences was really incredible. There were some really impressive action sequences in this movie. The only other movie IMO that had these many incredible action sequences was Kill Bill.

Kick-Ass is definitely a welcome addition to the realm of the comic-book movies. I had a blast watching this movie, I hope that you will too.In the end, Kick-Ass is not perfect, and it will not cater to everyone's tastes, but it is easily one of the most fun films of 2010.
Hope you guys like it too. So here are the three shorts.

1. Strangers:
This short is created by Erez Tadmor & Guy Nattiv. I find the message of this film interesting. Jews and Muslims have been forever enemies. When the muslim was in trouble with the skinheads, the jew tried to stay out of it, and he didn't want to have anything to do with the muslim's problem. But when they were both in the same boat, they worked together to beat the skinheads. This goes to tell us that even enemies can work together at times of adversities. I don't think the message is related to racism, but make peace, not war.

2. Nuit Blanche:
Nuit Blanche (from Spy Films) is a surreal, beautifully-rendered, partially-CG short film directed by Arev Manoukian. It explores a fleeting moment between two strangers, revealing their brief connection in a hyper real fantasy.

3. Notte Sento:
This short directed by Daniele Napolitano is made with 4500+ still photographs. A girl misses her train to Milan and is set to wait overnight in Rome until dawn. However, a chance encounter with a guy changes her plans and the night lights of the capital turn into the background to a tender love story. An extraordinary chemistry made of knowing glances and small gestures fills the few instants that separate them both from the sunrise.
Chris Black possesses a power that could lead to the destruction of the current regime, and they will stop at nothing to destroy him. The chase is on as Chris runs for his life in this sci-fi thriller set in an alternate and futuristic Los Angeles. This short is directed by Ricardo de Montreuil with a budget of 5000US$. And the latest news is that Mark Wahlberg took over the project with Universal Pictures to make a feature film. Wahlberg is not only planning to produce, but also to star.
Saw the movie this afternoon. Inception is directed by Christopher Nolan, the man who gave us an Epic Blockbuster last year in the form of The Dark Knight and the man who questioned our intelligence in the form of Memento, now has given us a perfect blend of these two movies.(This review may contain SPOILERS).

The theme of the movie is about a group of people who navigate their way through the mind of the people and steal their secrets in the dreams. Leonardo DiCaprio plays the role of the most skillful extractor Don Cobb, a fugitive who is longing to meet his children back home and is often troubled by the memories of his dead wife Mal Cobb(Marion Cotillard) whom he supposedly murdered. Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as his long-time right-hand man Arthur.

But this latest mission is different- a Business tycoon Saito (Ken Watanabe) wants him to plant an idea (hence termed inception) within a rival's (Cillian Murphy) mind in order that he will break up his ailing father's business empire after he takes over. Cobb agrees to this dangerous mission as Saito promises that if Cobb succeeds, he will wipe Cobb's slate clean so he is allowed to return to the United States to see his children. So Cobb begins assembling his team- the architect Ariadne (Ellen Page), the forger Earnes (Tom Hardy) and the chemist Yusuf (Dileep Rao)- think of it like a heist, only much more complicated.

The First half of the movie explains the audience about the rules of the game that the team plays. And the second half is where the test begins for the viewers. There are some jaw-dropping actions sequences and some heart winning sentimental scenes. The entire cast of the movie has done an excellent job on their part, the best performances came from DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.(Though DiCaprio's role is pretty similar to the one he played in Shutter Island).

This movie engages the audience and takes them to whole new world. I have never seen the audience get engaged so much for an English movie here at Chennai. But to really enjoy this movie the audience has to earn their right. The screenplay was exceptional especially in the second half where we go into a dream into a dream into a dream into a dream. The Music by Hans Zimmer is the Icing On The Cake.

Although there are some visual similarities to the anime Paprika, Inception is one of the best Original stories that I have seen in a long time. A Masterpiece by Nolan. In the end those who watch this movie would definitely go into the Limbo state.
The movie is the first venture for the director Punit Malhotra. To be frank I didn't expect much when I decided to watch this yesterday but I was pleasantly surprised.

Imran Khan stars as Jay, a typical Casanova who doesn,t believe in the word 'love' yet works as the Assistant to one of the most successful romantic directors in the bollywood industry, Veer Kapoor played by Sameer Soni. Sonam Kapoor stars as Simran, a typical bollywood girly character who works as an Art Director for Veer and has a perfect fiancé Raj played by Sameer Dattani. The two lead characters are off to a rough start. But Veer decides to punish Jay for his lousy behavior by transferring him under Simran as a prop buyer(Although I don't believe that any director would do this since props are important and it needs to handled by experts...carrying on).

This way the leads get to spend more time with each other, during which we get to see the same old bollywood romantic clichés. But the way the director carried it was good, there were some really good comic scenes that made me laugh. The Music by Vishal-Shekar is vibrant and the background score by Salim Sullaiman really brings life for the movie. Though there were some scenes which were "inspired" from HIMYM, like 'The Hot Vs Crazy scale', 'The Climax', etc, I liked this film.

The first half of the movie is really good whereas the second half brings us the same old romantic clichés. In the end if you don't demand too much, you will definitely exit the theaters with a smile on your face.

My Rating: 3/5

This movie is the directorial debut of Actor Gorô Kishitani. The movie is about a young woman Hiroko, who has spent most of her 25 years failing at everything but somehow managed to fall in love with a man of her dreams.

But on the night before her wedding, she accidentally kills her landlord and then discovers that he has been stalking her for a while now. So making her escape with the landlord in a suitcase, she drives to a forest near Mount Fuji where she plans to leave the body and, after her big day, turn herself in to the police. There she runs into Fukuko, a girl who is trying--and failing--to commit suicide by hanging herself from a tree.Fukuko offers to help Hiroko dispose of the corpse on one condition, Hiroko must help Fukuko become a corpse herself.

But they are not alone in the forest, they are on the run from a menacing motorcycle gang and a frantic young cop on a bicycle. From here on we can fairly guess whats going to happen next.

In the end this is a slapstick road movie that tries to deliver an emotional punch while shining rays of hope on its female target audience. This is one movie that you could enjoy watching with your buddies over an weekend.
This movie begins as four young Korean punks rip off a All Night Service Gas Station.

In this group of four there's a failed artist, a failed baseball player, the singer of a failed band and a failed bully. Their life is a dead end, and they're bored as hell. And so they decide to attack the same All Night Service Gas Station again. Why? Because it's fun. Because they can. Why not? They rob the station and take the owner and his teenage staff hostage. As the gang attends to the customers to keep all quiet, they realize that instead of just robbing the place, they can make even more money by keeping the money that the patrons give them for pumping their gas!

This is when the real fun starts. The way they treat the rude customers, the way they piss off the delivery boy and the way they beat up some high school punks. This leads to a big gang fight in the Climax and the way the director handles the group dynamics is great. The director has made great use of the limited locations used.

This flick had some really amazing performance by all the lead actors. The movie is very fun and mixes the Action/Drama/Comedy together real well. While some parts are a little silly and cheesy, and there are still goofs this makes for a nice movie to watch and keep in the collection one you could watch over and over and still be able to laugh. I definitely recommend to anyone who is a fan of crime capers, like Snatch and Pulp Ficiton.
It has been sitting in my hard disk for along time now. This is one of those feel good movies that has a great moral to it. That every person who fails deserves a second chance.

I was struck by how comprehensive the character study of George Bailey played by James Stewart was. He was a good man, but his ambitions were frustrated at every turn. He wanted an Education, that was just outside his grasp. He wanted to travel, life conspired against him. At every step of the way, one person saw George 'rolling with the blows', that was Mary Hatch played by Donna Reed. This woman loved George and wanted to stand at his side, so they can face the slings and arrows of misfortune together. This is love of the purest kind.

This is a beautiful, touching yet dark film. You see so many emotions, attitudes and values in this such as envy, love, corruption, joy, hope, faith and despair, all beautifully portrayed by the actors. It runs along at a fast pace and has a beginning, middle and an end. It also has a moral, which is lacking in so many movies today.

And one more thing. You know that feeling you get—that really, really good feeling in your soul—whenever you see a really, really good movie? If you want to revisit that sensation, see "It's a Wonderful Life" as soon as you can, because you are going to enjoy every single second of it from start to finish, you really will, every bit of it you will enjoy!
I still remember the day when my father took me to the cinema to watch Toy Story, the movie was something that every child loved back then. Later came Toy Story 2, again it was a blast. Now after ten years comes the finale to this trilogy, I am now past my teenage years. I thought that i would not enjoy this as much as i did in my childhood but to my surprise this movie almost made me cry.

Toy Story 3 is the story of our classic and new favorite characters Woody, Buzz, Slinky, Ham, Rex and friends as they try to cope with the fact that Andy is going off to college. They haven't been played with in years and they're becoming restless. As much as they want to believe Andy will save them and keep them in the attic as Woody predicts, our beloved toys start to question his motives as college day is coming and Andy's old room is starting to deteriorate into a trash hold. Which will Andy decide upon? The plot for this movie at first glance made me very satisfied, seeing as Pixar and the writers are trying to follow the time frame we are accustomed to. Back in 1999 when Andy found his new toys Jesse and Bullseye, he was still a child with imagination and joy to play with these toys. Ten years later, he is no longer a child but grown into a graduating senior who is ready to venture off the college for the first time. This plot is a classic scenario that new-bound college teens deal with on their moving date: whether or not to give up hold on our childish bonds. It's time to grow up sometime. This plot grabbed me in easily. As the rest of the movie continued, Pixar led us on a classic Toy Story adventure.

There where some really funny scenes such as the scene where Ken and Barbie meet for the first time and of course the scene when Buzz is reset and becomes El Buzzo and dances to salsa music with Jesse. In the whole this a movie for all ages and is definitely gonna grab some Oscars this year.
The movie was going good but then after some time I got spooked and I turned off the monitor and went to bed. Then I watched the rest of the flick this afternoon.

The structure of this film is easily the most tightly constructed in the history of cinema. I can think of no other film where something vitally important occurs every other minute. Quite literally, Director Ji-woon Kim seems to have made a movie that practically taunts the viewer to dissect it on the most detailed of levels. A seemingly insignificant object may be shown – a rack of dresses, two diaries, a drop of blood emanating from a floor crack, a bottle of pills, etc. – but upon meticulous inspection turns out to be so much more – a clue that helps to make sense of that particular scene (or perhaps the movie in total), which almost always contributes a stirring reflection upon the psychological concepts that lurk in the background until the viewer's intelligence prompts them to spring to the forefront. Such an event might occur a handful of times during any other movie, but in A Tale of Two Sisters such events occur in such a rapid-fire, relentless fashion that the viewer must watch the film in a perpetual state of alertness, lest they miss something important. In other words, the content level of this film is enough to easily fill a dozen other films.

The direction is incredibly good, and the acting is stunning, with the step-mother in particular incredibly good swinging from one mood style to another in the film. The large house adds eeriness, and there are enough points in the film where you will jump out of your seat. This film to me clearly shows why Korean cinema is possibly the best most original in the world at the moment. You simply don't get anything like this in the Western World, sadly, and really i can see it being influential on film makers around the world in the next decade. This definitely is a must watch horror flick.
This movie is an well crafted thriller with some extraordinary performances. The director has taken a serious issue in his hand and he has done a great job in sending the message.

Michael Caine stars as Harry Brown, a decorated ex-Serviceman who everyday watches the world unfold from his flat in a downtrodden London estate. He observes the increasingly senseless violence committed by the young gang members of the estate and the open-handed nature of the drug dealers without any action being taken towards those who are constantly flouting the law in his community. However when his wife passes away, and his best-friend Leonard played by David Bradley is killed after confronting the young men who spend each day terrorizing him to the point of retribution, Brown decides with nothing left to live for, to take the law into his own hands and delivers some excessively violent vigilante revenge.

The opening sequence of the moive where a mobile footage of two young gang members harassing a woman in the park and eventually shoot her without provocation and falling prey to an oncoming truck sets the tone to the film. From there on the cinematography by Martin Ruhe and the direction by Barber really sets the pace for a splendid thriller.

Sir Michael Caine gives a breath-taking emotional performance as the 'pensioner' who decides to take the law into his own hands. I think that his performance in this flick certainly deserves an OSCAR. Emily Mortimer starring as Detective Frampton also gives us an excellent performance. In the end this is an awesome movie and a must watch for everyone.
This movie is a biography of John Dillinger, a falmboyant criminal who robbed banks in the early 1930's and he had a huge fan base. This movie shows us the overview about the final years of John Dillinger.

Johnny Depp stars as John Dillinger, the famous bank robber.Christian Bale stars as Melvin Purvis, the Federal agent who is assigned to go after Dillinger. Director Michael Mann didn't concentrate enough on the Character Development of Dillinger. The movie didn't really portray 'Who Dillinger Was'. But rather focused on 'What Dillinger did in his final years'. There were many changes done to the real event. i.e for instance Dillinger wasn't the last one to die in his group, I belive that it was 'Baby Face' Nelson.

The acting from the stars in the main cast were really good, especially the performance of Stephen Graham starring as 'Baby Face' Nelson was superb!!

In the end this is a mediocre film but the thing that is most fascinating about this film is the costumes and sets. The men and women behind these really outdid themselves and created a very authentic view of 1930s Chicago. This aspect of the film alone makes it worth seeing! Every costume and set seems to have been made with the utmost attention to detail, and the final result is very pleasing to the eye.
This movie is meant to be a comedy but I didn't find anything funny in this flick where one would laugh their ass out. Except for one or two funny scenes there isn't anything funny about this flick. However the movie is not bad it turns out to be an innocent crime movie.

Charles played by Morgan Freeman, Roger Barlow played by Christopher Walken and George McLendon played by William H. Macy are three security guards working in a Museum. They have been working there for a long time and they get attached to the artwork that they guard everyday. Roger gets attached to the painting "The Lonely Maiden", Charles gets attached to the painting "Young Girl with Cats" and George gets attached to the statue "The Bronze Warrior". But the museum decides to send all the artwork to Denmark and replace them with new ones. So the three of them get together to pull off an heist to steal these three artwork.

I liked the performance of Christopher Walken and Marcia Gay Harden starring as the wife of Roger Barlow. The director Peter Hewitt somehow managed to show the planning of the heist and the execution of the heist have some believable complications, and what's done about them are believable as well.

In the end the story of the movie seems to be that even an ordinary man can get attached to an artwork and begin to enjoy it.
This movie is supposed to the biography of Rubin 'Hurricane' Carter. I did not write about this flick earlier because I didn't know anything about what happened in the real life of Rubin. So I did some research for a while and according to me there were some fiction in this true story.

Well lets get into the movie, Denzel Washington stars as Rubin 'Hurricane' Carter, a Champion Middleweight boxer who was sentenced to life in prison on a bogus murder rap. Lesra Martin played by Vicellous Reon Shannon is an young struggling negro who gets rescued by a group of three Canadians, Lisa Peters played by Deborah kara Unger, Sam Chaiton played by Liev Schreiber and Terry Switon played by John Hannah. Together these do-good Canadians and Lesra fight for the Justice for Rubin.

Denzel Washington's performance in this flick is simply amazing. His transformation from hard-souled fighting machine to soft-spoken, eloquent defender of justice is portrayed effectively. However for me Rod Steiger starring as Judge Sarokin stole the show with his performance in the end.

This is a flick which is about racism, corruption, hope, and above all, one man's torment. In the end this is one of the emotional films I have ever seen.
When I started watching the flick, I didn't understand what was happening in the movie for the first half an hour. But then I realized that the movie consists of multiple story line that is bound together by a common theme, dealing with immigrant issues.

Each of the story lines were engaging enough, some employing deep emotions to argue with their cases. But what seemed to be a common theme here is how power can be either used to do what is probably morally right or abusing it for personal gain. The movie's cast is led by Harrison Ford who stars as Max Brogan, an ICE agent. This is the most unusual character that Ford must have done in his lifetime. However he did give an excellent performance.

There's an illegal Mexican woman, Mireya Sanchez, played by Alice Braga who begs Max to look after her young son in the care of unfriendly relatives. A Jewish musician, Gavin Kossef, played by Jim Sturgess who's waiting to qualify for residency, his Australian girlfriend Claire Shepard played by Alice Eve, an Hollywood actress wannabe who had granted 2 months worth of on-demand sexual favours to an Immigration official Cole Frankel played by Ray Liotta in exchange for a green card. Cole's wife Deniese played by Ashley Judd wants to adopt a child placed in a detention centre, who meets Taslima Jahangir played by Summer Bishil whose essay failed to condemn the terrorists of 9/11 and gotten her and her family into hot soup. Then there's a Korean family who is waiting to be naturalized whose eldest son got involved with thugs. And finally Hamid Baraheri played by Cliff Curtis, Max's partner whose family cannot stand his estranged sister whom they feel is a disgrace of their values, tradition and custom by adopting the lifestyle of Americans, yet strangely ironic as they too pursue to be American citizens.

With all these story lines involved the director somehow manges to put in a little murder mystery in the movie as well. In the end this certainly is one of the powerful immigrant stories that I have seen.
The flick Orphan directed by Jaume Collet-Serra is very disturbing at times and is pretty gruesome. The movie in a whole is an excellent flick and this is one of the scariest flicks of all time according to me.

The flicks is about the story of Esther played by Isabelle Fuhrman, a 9-year old who is adopted by Kate and John Coleman played by Vera Farmiga and Peter Sarsgaard. The decision that they made because of the stillborn birth of their third child.

Esther quickly bonds with Max played by Aryana Engineer, the deaf daughter of the couple but is resented by their son Daniel played by Jimmy Bennett. She charms the Colemans with her artistic flair and her personality. But Kate realises that there is more going on with Esther than meets the eye. Whenever an accident occurs Esther seems to be around. So the rest of the plot remains in Kate finding Esther's secret.

Isabelle Fuhrman gave an excellent performance in this flick. Since the plot of the flick revolves around Esther, her performance will be the key for the movie's success. But damn did she come out with flying colors with her performance in this flick. I would definitely be surprised if she didn't grow up into one of the Hollywood's premiere stars.

In the end this flick will be a great one for those who enjoy horror/thriller flicks.
The movie was hilarious and I enjoyed every bit of it. I am a huge fan of Will Ferrell and this flick is one of his best movies.

Will Ferrell stars as Ron Burgundy who is San Diego's top rated anchorman in the male dominated broadcasting of the 1970's. His Channel 4 News team comprises of Champ Kind, the sports reporter played by David Koechner, Brian Fantana, the video reporter played by Paul Rudd and Brick Tamland, the dumb wheaterman played by Steve Carell. Together the four of them are the No.1 news team in San Diego and they go around bragging about it.

This is about to change when a new attractive female employee joins the Channel 4 News team, Veronica Corningstone played by Christina Applegate. Soon Burgundy and Veronica fall in love. One day a misadventure by Burgundy results in Veronica's pinch-hitting chance to anchor the evening news and she scores it big time. The remaining plot is about Ron's revenge and Veronica's counterattacks.

There are some really funny scenes like the scene where all the news teams of the competing stations led by Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller and Tim Robbins battle it out with each other. Guys when you watch this flick dont forget to watch the outtakes as the end credits role, especially Ferrell's last comment on what the movie really is.

In the end this is a flick which you can watch with your buddies and have a blast laughing.
This is the first time I am seeing this movie. Even though I haven't seen many Hitchcock films, I think I can boldly say that this is one of his best flicks of all time. And now this film is added into my favorite flicks of all time.

Cary Grant stars as Roger Thornhill, an advertising executive who is mistaken for a government agent George Kaplan by a group of foreign spies and gets kidnapped. When he tries to find out whats going on, he is framed for a murder and he sets out on a cross country run to survive and to find the real George Kaplan. Along the way he meets adventure, danger and beauty in the name of Eve Kendall played by Eva Marie Saint. However when he finds the truth, he is drawn towards a final showdown with the dangerous Phillip Vandamm played by James Mason.

Cary Grant's performance in this flick is simply awesome. One definitely falls in love wtih him or deeply envies him. He carried out his debonair manner throughout the film. Jessie Royce Landis stars as Clara Thornhill, mother of Roger also done a great job.

The Screenplay by Ernest Lehman sets this film to be a classic thriller that it is. The Music by Bernard Herrmann adds an aditional falvour to the scenes. My favorite scenes in this film are The Crop duster chase Scene and The Auction Scene. Another plus for the film was the clever and witty dialouges. Let me quote one of my favorite dialouges in this flick. This happens in the dining car of the train.

Roger: The moment I meet an attractive woman, I have to start pretending I have no desire to make love to her.
Eve: What makes you think you have to conceal it?
Roger: She might find the idea objectionable.
Eve: Then again, she might not.
All in all this film is a must watch flick. It has something for everyone within it: a little comedy, a little romance, great snappy dialogue and more action than any other action movie. I had a great time watching this flick. I am sure that you guys will also have an amazing time if you watch this flick.
This is the movie that I saw this afternoon after finishing my final exam of this semester. Well I saw this film hoping that it will be some fun movie for the kids to have a good time (and by kids I mean me, even though I am a 20 year old fatty). But when I saw this flick, it didn't turnout to be the film I hoped rather this was a very dark and disturbing adult drama which had me laughing and crying at the same time.

Robin Williams stars as Lance Clayton the father of an young Kyle Clayton(Daryl Sabara), a pervy sex-obsessed insolent teenager. Lance dreams to get his written work published when he is not teaching poetry at his son's school. He doesn't get any respect from his colleagues and the students aren't interested in enrolling for his poetry class and to top this his young girlfriend also treats him unfairly.

One day an unexpected(rather embarassing) tragedy occurs at Lance's house, he tries to cover certain embarassing facts and by doing so he accedently gains respect among his colleagues and his students. His dream of getting his written work published also comes true. This flick makes you wonder what people will do for fame even if they need to be a muse.

Robin Williams and Daryl Sabara have done exceptionally well. Their performance was one of the factors for this movie's success. Another person that has done his part brilliantly was the young Evan Martin who plays Andrew, the one and only friend of Kyle. And not to forget the brilliant work of the Director Bobcat Goldthwait.

In the end this is one of the best films of 2009 and a must watch flick for those who enjoy dark comedy.
